Upcoming Presentation at the American Corner in Cluj

High School Presentations

What:
A presentation about studying at universities in the
United States. Topics will include:
Structure of the American university system
Benefits of a U.S. education
What it takes to attend
Process for applying to U.S. universities
Financial aid - how to afford a U.S. education

Who:

Top high school students in any subject area, interested in studying anything. Ideal for 11th year students who will finish high school in June 2009. Also appropriate for 12th year students who would like to begin university in the Fall of 2009. Students should have a fairly high command of the English language.

Where:

At your high school. A room should be provided with enough seats for the students attending. In addition, an LCD projector is preferred in order to give the full presentation.

When:

The presentation will require 2 hours. This can be during or after school hours, based on your school’s decision. The date will be agreed upon, but will take place in the months of February or March, or possibly April.

Why:
The presentation will introduce
U.S. study to students who are the most likely to pursue an education in the U.S., answer questions that students have, and for some provide a first step towards submitting their application.

If you are interested in having a presentation at your high school, please contact me at usadvising@gmail.com. If you would like to schedule a presentation for February, please provide a date between the 15th and the 29th that would work. For presentations in March or April, please send an e-mail indicating your interest and I will be in touch in order to schedule a date.

Your high school will need to decide which students can attend the presentation: a small group of 10 to 20 is good if there are only a few students interested. However, a room of 100 interested students is also an option.
